Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is seeking a Contracts Engineer for the Sizewell C project in Leiston, Suffolk. The role focuses on on-site management, technical administration, and commercial oversight within an integrated delivery team.

Key tasks include budgeting support, subcontractor coordination, and maintaining detailed site records to ensure safe, efficient progress on civil works. Strong communication and IT literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• CFA, LDA, Secant and support fluid piling techniques.
• Commercial knowledge awareness.
• IT literate.
• Basic understanding of geotechnics and pile design.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• On-site management of projects covering technical administration and commercial aspects of the project.
• Liaise with plant yard regarding costs and damages.
• Liaise with workforce teams to ensure sufficient labour for tasks.
• Support budgets to ensure profitable execution and no shortfalls.
• Visit site before start to verify piling platform and welfare facilities; FPS attendances.
• Prepare contract and site files for each contract.
• Prepare job-specific contract plans/ITPs & RAMs.
• Organise subcontractors (setting out, excavators, muckaway, steel fixing).
• Liaise with purchasing on ordering materials for sites.
• Keep clients updated on site works and cost changes/ext/time/extra work.
• Ensure detailed site records are maintained.
