Job summary

Thalia Waste Management is seeking a proactive Site Stores Assistant at Allerton Waste Recovery Park. You’ll support the stores function in a busy operation, ensuring parts, tools and materials are available for maintenance and day-to-day activities.

Based at North Yorkshire, this permanent, full-time role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, site-based. You’ll emphasise stock control, accuracy and teamwork to keep a safe, well-organised stores environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role.
• Experience using stock control or inventory management systems.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across site.
• GCSEs including English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and log deliveries against orders.
• Inspect deliveries for accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Store materials and equipment with correct labelling and locations.
• Issue tools and parts to engineering and operations teams.
• Maintain accurate stock records in the inventory system.
• Conduct routine stock checks and assist with stocktakes.
• Monitor stock levels and raise replenishment needs.
• Prepare materials for planned maintenance and outages.
• Handle hazardous materials following COSHH and site rules.
• Keep stores clean, organised and compliant.
• Support continuous improvement within stores.
