Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Electrician to join our static sites in the Chester region. You will perform general maintenance, statutory checks, and electrical/plumbing/fabric tasks, while engaging with clients and maintaining a smart appearance.

The role requires a craft electrical qualification, 18th Edition, and CSCS or equivalent; IT literacy with good English is essential for reporting and communication. A proactive, safety-conscious professional will thrive here.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a craft qualification in electrical installation (City & Guilds 2350 NVQ or equivalent).
  • Current wiring regs qualification (18th Edition) is required or equivalent.
  • Valid Grade card/CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar facilities management role is essential.
  • Desirable knowledge of Inspection & Testing (2391).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, inspect, and carry out repairs or preventive maintenance.
  • Carry out reactive and planned services across offices and industrial premises.
  • Undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, and redecoration tasks.
  • Carry out statutory ppm inspections with understanding of H&S practices.
  • Provide technical guidance to client and support sub-contractors.

About The Role:

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00


We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join one or our static site's in the Chester region.


You will be required to carry out general maintenance and statutory compliance checks and will be required to have basic plumbing, electrical and fabric maintenance skills, ideally with experience working in a similar facilities management environment.
The role will require client engagement and a willingness to provide the best possible solutions to meet the client’s needs, so you will be required to maintain a smart appearance. You must have a good understand of both spoken and written English.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns in a timely fashion.

  • Carry out reactive and planned services in a range of environments from offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises.

  • To undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm

  • Trade skills are desirable or previous experience performing in a similar role

  • Carrying out statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checks including basic replacements and other minor reactive works.

  • Being an ambassador for the customer; dealing professionally with complaints and queries

  • Support engineer sub-contractors upon attending site.

  • Providing technical guidance to the client and contract support

  • Carrying out minor building fabric repairs

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and in line with Health & Safety legislation.

  • Upkeeping of site documentation

  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with the client & OCS

  • Ensure that health and safety is adhered to at all times


You should meet the following criteria:


  • A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 2 /3 Electrical Installation Engineering

  • The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition)

  • Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification.

  • Previous experience in similar role is essential

  • An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (Desirable)


To be successful in this role you will need:


  • Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Excel etc

  • Experience in a comparable role undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm inspections with a good understanding of Health & Safety working practices

  • Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes

  • Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements; along with issuing permit to work for hard service tasks

  • Experience using BMS system(s).

  • Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would be desirable

  • Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems
