Job summary

MLabs Ltd is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its automation-driven infra team. This remote-first role supports global operations across Europe, the UK, NY and Canada.

You will automate provisioning across data centres and cloud (AWS, GCP), build Continuous Delivery pipelines, manage vendor relationships, and enable remote workforce setup. The ideal candidate blends system administration with network engineering and thrives in a culture of shared accountability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on infrastructure automation with tools like Ansible.
• Ability to write scripts or small software programs for automation.
• Strong background in system administration and network engineering.
• Experience negotiating with third-party vendors and managing procurement.
• Highly autonomous, self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Desirable: knowledge of SAML, OAuth2, Active Directory; Microsoft Azure Active Directory; PostgreSQL HA databases.

Responsibilities

• Automated Infrastructure Provisioning: Build and scale automated provisioning pipelines for servers and networks across both physical data centers and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Continuous Delivery: Develop and evolve Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to automate the deployment of software, server setups, and network switches.
• Vendor & Partner Interaction: Act as a technical representative to engage with hardware vendors, telecom providers, and financial institutions via phone and email.
• Procurement & Support: Manage third-party procurement, negotiate vendor agreements, purchase hardware, and enable remote workforce setups.
• Shared Technical Ownership: Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, sharing full-environment responsibility while actively learning and sharing technical knowledge.

By taking on complex connectivity challenges, the client enables financial market participants to operate efficiently without overtaxing their internal resources.

A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is being sought to join a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team. This team manages a broad spectrum of technical operations—from automated server and cloud provisioning to network architecture and vendor integrations. The ideal candidate will thrive in an automation-first culture, possess a blend of system administration and network engineering expertise, and embrace shared accountability across the entire environment.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Automation & Configuration Management: Proven hands-on experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible.
• Software Development / Scripting: Functional programming abilities in a language of choice with the capacity to build usable scripts or software programs from scratch.
• Systems & Network Engineering: Solid combined background in system administration and network engineering concepts.
• Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience negotiating with third-party vendors, managing purchasing, and overseeing service delivery.
• Workplace Attributes: High degree of autonomy, self-motivation, open-mindedness, and a continuous learning mindset.

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth2, Active Directory, Kerberos).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
• Knowledge of high-availability database architectures, clustering, and replication (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Interview Process

1. Recruiter / HR Screening Call: Initial introductory conversation.
