Job summary

MLabs is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team in a remote-first role. You will own automated provisioning and scalable CD pipelines across cloud and on-prem environments, interacting with vendors and supporting a global client base.

The ideal candidate brings strong automation, scripting, and network engineering expertise, plus experience with procurement and vendor management in a fast-growing fintech setting.

Qualifications

• Automation & configuration management experience using infrastructure tools like Ansible.
• Programming/scripting ability to build usable scripts or small programs.
• Solid background in system administration and network engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated vendor management and service-delivery oversight.

Responsibilities

• Automated infrastructure provisioning across physical data centers and cloud (AWS, GCP).

• Engage with hardware vendors, telecom providers, and financial institutions via phone and email.

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company that provides high-performance integration and hosted connectivity services to global trading venues and financial institutions. By taking on complex connectivity challenges, the client enables financial market participants to operate efficiently without overtaxing their internal resources.

A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is being sought to join a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team. This team manages a broad spectrum of technical operations—from automated server and cloud provisioning to network architecture and vendor integrations. The ideal candidate will thrive in an automation-first culture, possess a blend of system administration and network engineering expertise, and embrace shared accountability across the entire environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automated Infrastructure Provisioning: Build and scale automated provisioning pipelines for servers and networks across both physical data centers and cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
• Continuous Delivery: Develop and evolve Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to automate the deployment of software, server setups, and network switches.
• Vendor & Partner Interaction: Act as a technical representative to engage with hardware vendors, telecom providers, and financial institutions via phone and email.
• Procurement & Support: Manage third-party procurement, negotiate vendor agreements, purchase hardware, and enable remote workforce setups.
• Shared Technical Ownership: Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, sharing full-environment responsibility while actively learning and sharing technical knowledge.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Automation & Configuration Management: Proven hands‑on experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible.
• Software Development / Scripting: Functional programming abilities in a language of choice with the capacity to build usable scripts or software programs from scratch.
• Systems & Network Engineering: Solid combined background in system administration and network engineering concepts.
• Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience negotiating with third‑party vendors, managing purchasing, and overseeing service delivery.
• Workplace Attributes: High degree of autonomy, self‑motivation, open‑mindedness, and a continuous learning mindset.

Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth2, Active Directory, Kerberos).
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
• Knowledge of high‑availability database architectures, clustering, and replication (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Interview Process

1. Recruiter / HR Screening Call : Initial introductory conversation.
2. Hiring Manager Interview : Domain-focused technical discussion (1 hour).
