Job summary

evoke is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to improve reliability, scalability and performance of our betting and gaming platforms. You will work closely with engineering, operations and commercial teams to turn insights into actionable improvements and ensure resilient services.

Ideal candidates bring experience with large-scale platforms, cloud computing, and containerised environments, plus strong communication to translate technical findings into business outcomes. Hybrid work is offered.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, operational and commercial teams to enhance platform reliability and customer experience across betting and gaming products.
• Lead and support major incidents through incident command framework, coordinating responses and restoring services efficiently.
• Conduct postmortem investigations to identify root causes and drive improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Utilise observability tools (e.g., Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch) to monitor health and uncover performance insights.
• Design, execute and analyse performance testing to evaluate system behaviour and readiness.
• Champion operational readiness, resilience and fault-tolerance across services.
• Drive automation to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Promote SRE best practices across the organisation with data-driven recommendations.
• Promote collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you will be doing

• Partner with engineering, operational and commercial teams to enhance platform reliability, scalability and customer experience across our betting and gaming products.
• Lead and support major incidents through the incident command framework, helping to coordinate responses and restore services efficiently.
• Conduct detailed postmortem investigations, identifying root causes, challenging assumptions and driving meaningful improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Utilise observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic and CloudWatch to monitor platform health, investigate issues and uncover performance insights.
• Design, execute and analyse performance testing activities to evaluate system behaviour, identify bottlenecks and validate platform readiness.
• Champion operational readiness, resilience and fault-tolerance across services, ensuring systems can scale effectively to meet changing customer demand.
• Drive automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort and enhance service reliability.
• Promote SRE best practices throughout the organisation, influencing teams through data-driven recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who we are looking for

• Experience working with large-scale technology platforms, combining operational, analytical and engineering expertise to solve complex problems and experience or interest in using AI tools
• Broad understanding of cloud computing concepts, distributed systems and containerised environments, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
• Knowledge of scalability, resilience, fault-tolerance and performance principles, ideally supported by hands-on experience in production environments.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business outcomes and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
