Job summary

Boccard a global industrial turnkey constructor is seeking a QA/QC Engineer with nuclear experience for a 6-month contract near Bridgewater, Somerset. The role oversees welding/fabrication quality, dimensional inspection, and compliance with the Project Quality Plan.

The ideal candidate will inspect, document, and ensure safe, compliant workmanship while coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and site managers to maintain contract standards and quality records.

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.1 and PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation are required.

Responsibilities

• Part of the Quality team carrying out inspections and surveillance.
• Assist Site Managers in their Quality requirements.
• Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is implemented and shared with relevant managers.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and treatment works to carry out random inspections.
• Complete inspections to ensure goods inwards meet the required standards.
• Maintain a high workmanship standard throughout the contract.
• Produce and record reports from supplier and sub-contractor visits with contract documentation.
• Manage subcontractors and review all documentation for compliance.
• Review calibration and test equipment for compliance with requirements.
• Ensure weld procedures comply with code requirements.
• Analyse non-conformance reports.
• Final review of fabrication and assembly documentation before client submission.
• Maintain approved suppliers listing and monitor expiring documents.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and attend meetings as appropriate.
• Issue quality documents for approval/review.
• Coordinate documentation with contract requirements and client QA/QC contacts.
• Collect SQEP files for HPSL Personnel as required by contract/client.
• Carry out other reasonable duties within the QA/QC function.

Our Client, Boccard, a global industrial turnkey constructor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of innovative industrial plants are currently looking for a QA / QC Engineer experienced in the Nuclear for a 6 months contract to start with the possibility to be extended / become a permanent employee near Bridgewater, Somerset (TA7 0AJ)

The QA/ QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. They will oversee the quality and safety of the companies welding and fabrication activities, including dimensional inspection. They are responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.

• Complete inspections to ensure material at goods inwards meet the required standards.
• Ensure a good standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the contract.
• Ensure reports from visits to suppliers and sub-contractors to in-house inspections are produced and recorded with contract documentation.
• Management of subcontractors.
• Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements
• Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements.
• Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements.
• Analyse non-conformance reports
• Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client
• Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired.
• Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate.
• Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review.
• Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements.
• Liase with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation
• Collect and keep up to date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel - issue to client if required by Contract/Client.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.
