Job summary

Boccard UK is seeking a qualified QC Engineer to work on-site at HPC, responsible for inspections and surveillance in line with the Project Quality Plan. You will support QC Inspectors, create lifetime records, and promote client satisfaction through robust QA/QC practices.

You will review documentation, calibrations, and weld procedures, while coordinating with suppliers and client representatives to ensure project alignment and compliance across all stages of fabrication and assembly.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of welding procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with a good eye for detail.
• Significant experience in working on pipe spooling contracts.
• Knowledge of RCCM manufacturing specifications.
• Computer literate and willing to train on internal digital platforms.
• Previous Nuclear experience preferred.
• CSWIP 3.1 minimum.
• PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation– Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with project requirements and shared with relevant managers.
• Review all documentation, LTRs and final certification packages per contract requirements.
• Review calibration and test equipment for compliance with company and contract requirements.
• Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code and contract requirements.
• Carry out Quality Awareness Training.
• Analyse non-conformance reports and implement corrective actions.
• Final review of fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to client.
• Maintain approved suppliers listing and manage expiring documentation.
• Liaise with Suppliers, Subcontractors and clients and attend meetings as needed.
• Issue Quality Documents to Document Control for approval/review.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure documentation aligns with project needs.
• Liaise with client representatives regarding QA/QC operations.
• Conduct Audits of the Works and Projects Quality System and issue NCRs as needed.
• Review and record Quality questionnaires for new suppliers/subcontractors for HPSL Approved Listing.
• Maintain SQEP files for HPSL personnel and provide to client when required.
• Carry out other reasonable duties within the role and comply with Boccard UK Ltd’s Equality & Diversity policy.
