Boccard UK Ltd is seeking a QA/QC Engineer with nuclear experience for a 6-month contract near Bridgewater, Somerset. You will oversee welding and fabrication inspections, ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan, and manage non-conformances and subcontractor documentation.

The role requires CSWIP 3.1 & PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation as a minimum and entails coordinating quality activities with site managers and client representatives.

Qualifications

  • CSWIP 3.1 and PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation required.
  • Experience in QA/QC for industrial/nuclear projects.
  • Inspections of welding and fabrication activities.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections and surveillance in line with the Project Quality Plan.
  • Assist Site Managers with QA/QC requirements.
  • Review documentation, LTRs and final certification packages as per contract.
  • Ensure calibration and test equipment meet contract requirements.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives.

Job description

Our Client, Boccard, a global industrial turnkey constructor specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of innovative industrial plants are currently looking for a QA / QC Engineer experienced in the Nuclear for a 6 months contract to start with the possibility to be extended / become a permanent employee near Bridgewater, Somerset (TA7 0AJ)

QA/ QC Engineer is responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. They will oversee the quality and safety of the companies welding and fabrication activities, including dimensional inspection. They are responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.

CSWIP 3.1 & PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation req as a min

  • Part of the Quality team carrying our inspections and surveillance
  • Assist Site Managers in their Quality requirements.
  • Ensure that the Project Quality Plan / Inspection Test Plan is written in-line with the project requirements and is being effectively implemented and shared with relevant managers.
  • Liaise with all sub-contractors and treatment works to carry out random inspections of these sites to ensure compliance to the required specifications as set out by contract and purchase orders.
  • Complete inspections to ensure material at goods inwards meet the required standards.
  • Ensure a good standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the contract.
  • Ensure reports from visits to suppliers and sub-contractors to in-house inspections are produced and recorded with contract documentation.
  • Management of subcontractors.
  • Review of all documentation, LTRs & final certification packages are in accordance with contract requirements
  • Review calibration and test equipment are in full compliance with company & contract requirements.
  • Ensure weld procedures comply with relevant code & contract requirements.
  • Analyse non-conformance reports
  • Final review of all fabrication and assembly documentation before submission to the client
  • Maintain the approved suppliers listing and requesting any documentation that may have expired.
  • Liaising with Suppliers, Subcontractors, clients etc and attend meetings where appropriate.
  • Issue of any Quality Documents required by client to Document Control for approval/review.
  • Liaise with sub-contractor and ensure all documentation runs concurrently with the project requirements.
  • Liase with client representatives relating to QA/ QC operation
  • Collect and keep up to date SQEP Files for HPSL Personnel – issue to client if required by Contract/Client.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the role.
