Job summary

SUEZ is hiring a customer-focused site assistant to support public users and help maximise material recovery at the Blackburn and Darwen sites.

You will maintain records, coordinate container exchanges, and keep the site tidy while ensuring compliance with health, safety and company policies. A team-friendly attitude and willingness to travel between sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Good level of customer service and ability to work in a team.
• Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable, but full training will be given.
• Flexible approach to work is advantageous for covering holidays and sickness.
• Must be able to travel to Blackburn & Darwen sites; own transport is essential.

Job description

What will I be doing?

Providing excellent levels of customer service, you will advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintaining a tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
• Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health & safety and COTC level 4 (waste industry specific), we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.

What you will need is:
