Job summary

SUEZ in the United Kingdom is seeking a site operative to deliver excellent customer service at our material recovery site. You will guide the public on how to use the site to maximise recycling, operate mobile plant when required and help maintain a tidy, safe site.

The role requires a flexible approach, a full driving license and a team-oriented mindset, with training provided for plant operation where needed.

Qualifications

• Full driving license is required.
• Experience with mobile plant is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist the public on site.
• Advise visitors on site operations to maximise material recovery.
• Operate mobile plant as required.
• Maintain accurate records for material removal.
• Book loads with the relevant person to keep space for storage.
• Keep the site clean and safe within defined areas.
• Support health, safety and welfare compliance for colleagues and visitors.
• Collaborate with the site team to meet permits, legislation and SUEZ policies.
• Perform any other duties within the job scope.

Job description

What will I be doing?

Providing excellent levels of customer service, you will advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials they are depositing, which will involve:

• A flexible approach is required
• Operating Mobile Plant
• Full driving licenseis required
• Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site.
• Controlling the exchange of containers by booking loads with the relevant person, thus ensuring the site always has space to segregate and store material correctly.
• Maintaining a tidy site within his/her areas of responsibility.
• Ensuring SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
• Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with the site permit, comply with all applicable legislation, and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role.

What are the requirements?

• With the potential to gain qualifications including IOSH health, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure operations exceed the standards required.
• What you will need is:
• A good level of customer service and ability to work in a team.
• Ideally prior mobile plant use is desirable but full training will be given.
• A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
• Full Driving License
