Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager to oversee warehousing and domestic transport operations within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. Responsibilities include managing site facilities, ensuring integrated logistics solutions, and driving cost efficiency and customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage transport administration, planning, and third-party carriers & internal drivers, including inbound and outbound warehouse planning.
2. Oversee stock management and control, and manage staff and resources effectively.
3. Maintain a safe working environment and ensure housekeeping standards.
4. Implement continuous improvement initiatives in line with a kaizen approach.
5. Coordinate with internal and external customers, ensuring high standards and achievement of KPIs and SLAs.
6. Ensure health, safety, and welfare regulations are followed.
7. Handle maintenance, quality, and environmental standards compliance.
8. Manage external contractors and landlord relations related to site issues.
9. Act as security responsible person for the site.

Additional Duties:

1. Plan resources and staff to meet daily operational targets.
2. Manage operational supervisors to ensure timely completion of unloading, put-away, picking, packing, and loading.
3. Create and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
4. Monitor operational costs and maintain accurate records.
5. Coordinate maintenance and repairs of operational machinery.
6. Ensure effective communication across teams and external partners.
7. Manage domestic transport activities with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners.
8. Promote continuous improvement and warehouse housekeeping.
9. Handle staff disciplinary procedures and monitor performance, attendance, and holidays.
10. Maintain staff training and supplier records.

Skills and Experience:

• At least 3 years of managerial experience in warehouse and transport environments.
• Experience within an airfreight setting.
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and results-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure calmly.
• Experience as an AvSec and H&S Representative preferred.
• Budget management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• O Licence desirable; training can be provided.
