Job Description:

My client is looking to recruit a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager who will manage all elements of the warehousing and domestic transport operation within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. This includes overall management of the site and its facilities, ensuring logistics solutions are integrated, cost-efficient, and improve customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Transport administration, planning, and management of 3rd party carriers & internal drivers, warehouse inbound and outbound planning and processing.
• Efficient stock management and control, along with managing staff and resources.
• Maintaining a safe working environment and housekeeping.
• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives aligned with a kaizen environment.
• Ensuring high-quality standards, customer KPIs, SLAs, and accreditation standards are met.
• Managing health, safety, and welfare of staff, complying with regulations.
• Handling maintenance, quality, environmental standards, and liaising with external contractors.
• Security responsibilities as the designated Responsible Person.

Additional Duties:

• Resource and staff planning for daily operations.
• Managing operational supervisors and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Maintaining risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Monitoring operational costs and records accuracy.
• Coordinating maintenance and security machinery repairs.
• Ensuring effective communication within the team and with external partners.
• Managing domestic transport activities with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners.
• Promoting continuous improvement and housekeeping initiatives.
• Staff disciplinary, performance, and attendance management.
• Maintaining staff and supplier records.

Skills and Experience:

• At least 3 years' managerial experience in warehouse and transport sectors.
• Experience in airfreight operations.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and results-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• AvSec and H&S certification preferred.
• Budget management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• O Licence desirable; training available.
