Job Description:
My client is looking to recruit a Site Operations & Warehouse Manager who will manage all elements of the warehousing and domestic transport operation within a busy Airfreight and distribution centre. This will include the overall management of the site and its facilities ensuring that all logistics solutions are fully integrated and designed to be cost efficient and improve customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Transport administration, planning and management of 3rd party carriers & internal drivers, warehouse inbound and outbound planning and processing.
- Efficient stock management and control of goods through the warehouse, along with managing effective staff and resource management.
- Overall control of housekeeping and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
- Delivering continuous improvement initiatives in line with a kaizen environment.
- Liaising with internal and external customers to ensure high-quality standards, accreditation, KPIs, and SLA requirements are met.
- Responsibility for Health, Safety, and Welfare, complying with regulations.
- Handling H&S and maintenance issues within the building.
- Ensuring quality and environmental standards for the site.
- Dealing with external contractors regarding building/site issues and landlord relations.
- Security responsibilities as the designated responsible person.
Additional Duties:
- Planning resources and staff efficiently to achieve daily operational targets.
- Managing operational supervisors and ensuring timely completion of unloading, put away, picking & packing, and loading activities.
- Creating and maintaining risk assessments and SSOW for all areas of responsibility.
- Monitoring operational costs and maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs of operational machinery with external contractors.
- Maintaining effective communication channels within the team and with external partners.
- Managing domestic transport activities with the Transport Manager and 3PL partners to ensure service quality and profitability.
- Encouraging staff involvement in continuous improvement and housekeeping initiatives.
- Handling staff disciplinary procedures in collaboration with HR.
- Monitoring staff performance, attendance, and holidays.
- Maintaining staff records and training documentation.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in warehouse and transport environments.
- Experience in airfreight operations.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Flexible and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to work under pressure calmly.
- AvSec and H&S certification desirable.
- Experience working within budgetary constraints.
- Excellent communication skills.
- O Licence holder preferred, with training available if needed.
