Job summary

Veolia is recruiting for a waste site operations role based at Newcastle, with 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The role focuses on managing daily site operations, safety compliance, waste coordination and stakeholder support.

IT literacy, waste management experience and IOSH Managing Safely are required, along with FLT B1 and van driving competencies. You will be part of a team dedicated to safe, compliant waste management with opportunities for training and development within Veolia's

Qualifications

IT literate with ability to use Google software confidently.
Experience of waste management and relevant legislation.
IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
Knowledge of permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

Manage daily site operations, including risk assessments, safety briefings and RAMS compliance.
Check plant, equipment and fuel use; report defects and maintain stock levels.
Promote a positive health and safety culture and report concerns appropriately.
Coordinate waste collections, segregation, storage, inspections and documentation.
Deliver toolbox talks, maintain training records and support audit and reporting requirements.
Act as the main site contact for waste queries, supporting stakeholders and the Contract Manager.
