Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Operation Project Lead for a North West tankage refurbishment project, based onsite in Ellesmere Port. You will act as the site lead, maintaining safety, quality, commercial governance and client assurance to deliver predictable outcomes.

The role requires strong behavioural safety leadership, coordination of planning and readiness, and hands-on oversight of execution activities from UHP cutting to hydrotest readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading multidiscipline construction/refurbishment projects (tankage or similar).
• Proven Managing Contractor leadership.
• Strong QMS capability (QP, ITPs, WPS/WPQR, materials traceability).
• Tank refurbishment experience (floor and roof works, drains, hydrotest).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the Construction Phase Plan, site rules, SIMOPS controls and statutory inspection regimes.
• Lead daily/weekly coordination and readiness reviews with PTW, briefs and toolbox talks.
• Direct safe, controlled execution of tank refurbishment activities including UHP cutting, scaffolding, painting, and hydrotest readiness.
• Coordinate design deliverables, temporary works, and welding controls; ensure HSE leadership.
• Maintain schedule control (L3), progress tracking and mitigation planning.
• Oversee commercial governance, change control and forecasting in collaboration with QS.
• Plan and control subcontractors and verify competence, RAMS, performance and progress.
