Job summary

GRS Group seeks a proactive Site Operations Lead in Tilbury to oversee all production, transport and site activities, ensuring safety, efficiency and budget adherence. You will guide site staff, coordinate with multiple sites and support the sales team with stock and delivery planning.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication and a can-do attitude to drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organisation skills (Essential).
• Ability to understand and deliver an excellent level of service to customers.
• Experience in the areas described is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Health and Safety: induct visitors and contractors; manage HSQ&E inspections; ensure compliance and safe conditions.
• Coordination and Supervision: share loads across sites; confirm orders by end of following day.
• Transport: manage drivers, timekeeping, H&S, vehicle checks, routing and fleet servicing.
• Financial: review statements with Area Operations Manager; obtain quotes; maintain cost controls.
• Best Practice: share and implement best practices across sites.
• Working with others: support Area Operations Manager; assist sales teams with stock and customer needs.
• Staffing: plan staffing, organize recruitment, monitor performance and payroll hours.
• People/Training: coach and develop staff; ensure training records and qualifications are up to date.
• Production: manage quality and quantity of output; maintain equipment to reduce downtime.
• Stock Control: maintain inbound/outbound stock; manage stock rotation for retail readiness.
• Communication: provide daily updates to Production Manager on carry-overs and pulls.
• Sales, Marketing and Customer Service: assist commercial team; handle complaints; contribute to new product ranges.
• Ad hoc tasks: participate in project work and other assignments as required.
