Job summary

Wood seeks a Piping Lead (Discipline Construction Lead) for a 12‑month contract based at the Teesside project site in Redcar. The role oversees all piping construction activities on site, with occasional travel to EPC design offices in Paris and UK/overseas facilities as required.

You will lead safety, quality and readiness, coordinate with EPC piping leads and other discipline teams, and supervise erection, testing and turnover through to mechanical completion and client handover.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in large EPC projects overseeing piping installation and related activities.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee construction planning with safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping erection, testing, and pre-commissioning.
• Coordinate with EPC piping leads and off-site fabrication.
• Ensure compliance with client specs, safety and quality.
• Oversee turnover through mechanical completion and handover.
• Support construction planning and progress reporting.
