Job summary

Meridian Trust is seeking a Site Officer to join our school support team at NeneGate. The role is 30 hours per week across 52 weeks, based at NeneGate with occasional cross-site duties and out-of-hours key-holding.

You will maintain security and care of buildings, furniture and equipment, ensure a safe environment and support health & safety across sites. The ideal candidate will bring reliability, customer service experience, and the ability to work across multiple sites with IT competence and

Responsibilities

  • Ensure premises are tidy and in a safe condition to provide a secure learning environment.
  • Be the focal point for health and safety, completing risk assessments and workplace inspections.
  • Manage external contractors and ensure safety and safeguarding policies are followed.
  • Respond to Helpdesk maintenance requests via Iamcompliant.
  • Operate the Building Management System (BMS) to run buildings efficiently.
  • Carry out maintenance and simple repairs as a competent handyperson.
  • Respond promptly to Iamcompliant Helpdesk requests.

Vacancy for Site Officer

Salary: Meridian Trust Support Grade 5, Points 5

Hours of work: 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Are you an enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated individual? We have a great opportunity for a Site Officer to join a supportive, friendly team at NeneGate.

You would ensure the security and care of the school buildings, furniture, fittings, and equipment. Alongside, maintaining a safe physical environment with particular emphasis on the day-to-day management of the site.

You would be based at NeneGate however we would ideally like someone to be willing to work across the other sites within the Trust to support colleagues in other schools occasionally and act as a key holder out of hours. This is a hands-on role; a trade skill and knowledge of general cleaning, and maintenance operations and Health & Safety would be an advantage.

The Opportunity
  • To take pride in ensuring that the premises are in an acceptable state of tidiness and repair providing a safe and secure learning environment
  • To be a focal point for the teams in respect of health and safety. For example, ensuring all risk assessments, workplace inspections and other checks are completed in a timely and competent fashion.
  • Managing external contractors, ensuring they work safely and in compliance with our safeguarding policies.
  • Respond to Helpdesk requests for maintenance support from building occupiers through our maintenance and compliance management software tool, Iamcompliant.
  • Utilise the Building Management System (BMS) to operate the buildings effectively and efficiently.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to the building, furniture, and equipment within the scope of a competent handyperson.
  • Respond to Iamcompliant Helpdesk requests from building occupiers in good time.
The ideal candidate
  • Highly motivated, calm, and professional.
  • Has experience of customer service.
  • Committed, reliable, and able to build and sustain excellent working relationships.
  • Is flexible, with high professional standards.
  • Can use initiative, and work as part of a team.
  • Confident using IT equipment, especially computers.
  • Has a good understanding of Health & Safety best practice principles.
  • Experienced in managing external contractors.
