Job summary

Stroud District Council seeks an enthusiastic Site Officer to manage Independent Living sites across the Stroud District. You will ensure safe, clean communal areas, coordinate health & safety, compliance, and light grounds duties, and support HUBS events with contractors where needed.

Full training will be provided for tasks such as PAT testing and health & safety; we value a can-do attitude and a commitment to inclusive, safeguarding-focused service delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage communal areas across Independent Living sites to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Oversee health & safety, compliance and routine cleaning duties.
• Assist with light grounds maintenance and repairs; report issues to contractors.
• Coordinate with contractors and partner agencies for maintenance.
• Support HUBS events and activities while maintaining accessibility.

Job description

Stroud District Council is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Site Officer to work in our Independent Living sites across the Stroud District. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the site managing the communal areas which includes health & Safety, Compliance, cleaning, light grounds/gardening duties ensuring a clean and safe environment at all times. We operate Independent Living Community HUBS which need to be kept to a high standard for internal and external functions and activities., Full training will be provided to carry out Site Officer duties such as PAT testing, Health & Safety training and anything else relevant to the role., A local government reorganisation is planned for Gloucestershire, which may result in changes to structures and services. The successful candidate must have a 'can do 'attitude along with excellent time management and organisational skills.

You will be a self-starter with a willingness to recognise and report maintenance and repairs whilst communicating with contractors, partner agencies and visitors to our Independent Living sites.

You will have sufficient levels of fitness to carry out duties required such as cleaning, grounds maintenance and light repairs.
