Job summary

E-ACT is seeking a Site Officer at Willenhall EACT Academy to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment. You will support day-to-day site operations, ensuring premises, facilities, heating, lighting, security and cleanliness meet high standards for students, staff and visitors.

The role reports to the Estates Business Partner and involves health and safety leadership, coordinating contractors, and carrying out essential maintenance tasks across the academy.

Qualifications

  • Maths & English GCSE or equivalent or willing to work towards
  • Relevant maintenance/trade qualification or willingness to work towards
  • IOSH or recognised equivalent Health and Safety qualification
  • Experience of a range of caretaking and cleaning duties

Responsibilities

  • Regular routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lights and firefighting equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of security across academy premises including dealing with alarm systems and liaising with security services.
  • Install, maintain or repair jobs of a minor nature such as plumbing, joinery, painting/decorating, plastering, electrical work.
  • Actively promote a strong Health and Safety culture across the site teams and the wider academies.
  • Monitor all contractors on site and ensure work is completed to the required standard.

Join Willenhall Academy as a Site Officer, playing a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment. You will support the day-to-day running of the academy site, helping to ensure that the premises, facilities, heating, lighting, security and cleanliness are maintained to a high standard for our students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Estates Business Partner, this post holder will be accountable for:

  • Regular routine testing of fire alarms, emergency lights and firefighting equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of security across academy premises including dealing with alarm systems and liaising with security services.
  • Install, maintain or repair jobs of a minor nature such as plumbing (eg leaky taps), joinery (eg boarding up broken windows), painting/decorating, plastering, electrical work (eg replace faulty lights), etc.
  • Actively promote a strong Health and Safety culture across the site teams and the wider academies.
  • Monitor all contractors on site and ensure work is completed to the required standard.

Pay range:

NJC SCP 12 - 17 £28,598.00 - £31,022.00

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Full time, Permanent.

Qualifications and Skills:
