Job summary

Romans Recruitment Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a new storage and distribution depot project in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

You will manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure delivery on time, within budget and to the highest safety standards. The role requires a strong engineering/construction background with expertise in groundworks, retaining structures, drainage, external works and steel frame construction.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Manager in construction.
• Strong background in commercial projects.
• Ability to read drawings and manage complex packages.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations from start to finish.
• Lead subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
• Ensure works meet safety and company procedures.
• Monitor programme progress and resolve delivery issues.
• Maintain quality control across all phases.
• Conduct site inspections and safety briefings.
• Ensure CDM compliance and safety policies.
• Liaise with clients and project teams.
• Coordinate logistics, materials, plant and labour.
• Maintain site records and progress reports.
• Support delivery teams to meet programme and commercial targets.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates to management.
