Job summary

Fusion People Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Manager with SR163 Authorisation to oversee civil engineering and National Grid projects across the UK. You will lead day-to-day site operations, manage sub-contractors, and ensure safety, quality and schedule on National Grid/NGED sites.

This permanent role requires SMSTS/CSCS Black or Gold, First Aid, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel UK-wide. Office base in Gloucester / South Wales with UK-wide travel.

Qualifications

• SR163 Authorisation required.
• Strong Civil Engineering background in power/utilities.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide (site-based).
• SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and progress targets.
• Act as SR163 ticket holder on site, enforcing National Grid safety protocols.
• Coordinate civils packages, groundworks, foundations and cable route installations.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS, and risk assessments.
• Interface with client representatives, sub-contractors and internal project managers.

Package: £70,000 (NEG DOE) + Car/Allowance + Travel Expenses + Benefits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager holding SR163 Authorisation to oversee site operations for major civil engineering and power infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for day-to-day site management, health & safety compliance, and direct management of sub-contractors and site teams on National Grid and NGED infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations ensuring safety, quality, and progress targets are met.
• Act as the designated SR163 ticket holder on site, ensuring strict compliance with National Grid / NGED safety protocols.
• Coordinate civils packages, groundworks, foundations, and cable route installations.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
• Interface with client representatives, sub-contractors, and internal project managers.

Requirements

• SR163 Authorisation (National Grid / NGED) - Essential.
• Strong background in Civil Engineering within the power/utilities sector.
• Proven track record on National Grid and/or NGED substation or overhead line projects.
• SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, First Aid.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel UK-wide (site-based).
