Job summary

Fusion People is seeking an experienced Site Manager with SR163 Authorisation to oversee Civil Engineering and National Grid infrastructure projects across the UK. You will manage day-to-day site operations, enforce health and safety, and lead sub-contractor teams on major civil works and power projects.

The role requires proven site leadership, a strong background in the utilities sector, and willingness to travel UK-wide. SR163 certification, SMSTS/CSCS, and First Aid credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• SR163 Authorisation (National Grid / NGED) – Essential.
• Strong background in Civil Engineering within the power/utilities sector.
• Proven track record on National Grid and/or NGED substation or overhead line projects.
• SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, First Aid.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel UK-wide (site-based).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations ensuring safety, quality, and progress targets are met.
• Act as the designated SR163 ticket holder on site, ensuring strict compliance with National Grid / NGED safety protocols.
• Coordinate civils packages, groundworks, foundations, and cable route installations.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
• Interface with client representatives, sub-contractors, and internal project managers.

About the Role
