Job summary

MEARS GROUP PLC in Thanet is seeking a Site Manager to lead SHDF retrofit works across social housing properties. You will manage planned works, ensure safety, quality and cost controls, and work with local teams to deliver a high standard of customer service.

The role requires proven site management experience, SMSTS, and knowledge of PAS 2035, with a strong focus on compliance, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• SMSTS qualification.
• Previous experience in a site manager role.
• Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit.
• EWI/CWI experience.
• Asbestos awareness.
• First aid at work.
• Social housing refurbishment experience.
• UK full driving license.
• Working at heights with scaffold inspection experience.
• Knowledge of housing improvements, contracts & rates.
• Managing, monitoring, recording and reporting health & safety compliance.
• Experience of managing sub-contractors.
• COSHH knowledge.
• Strong customer focus.
• Problem solving & results orientation.
• Negotiation & influence skills.
• IT literacy with good communication.
• CDM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of planned works contracts and staff to meet KPIs.
• Oversee internal/external works (insulation, windows, doors, heaters, roofing) including scaffolding.
• Monitor programme progression with site visits to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Manage employees and sub-contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Conduct onsite inspections, investigations and reporting with improvement recommendations.
• Liaise with design teams, client representatives and consultants.
