Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Site Manager for civil engineering and tunnelling projects across the UK. You will manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The role requires SMSTS and CSCS, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel and lodge away. You will lead site teams, coordinate with project and commercial teams, and drive continuous improvement on technically complex

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience on tunnelling, shafts, deep excavations or underground works is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and site controls.
• Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills.
• SMSTS and CSCS are essential; First Aid and Temporary Works are desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK and lodge away.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site activities across civil engineering and tunnelling works.
• Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor works to meet programme targets.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and direct labour.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and progress updates.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, designers and supply chain partners.
• Monitor performance, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage materials, plant and workforce resources efficiently.
• Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks and workforce briefings.
