Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a major warehouse/distribution centre project in Swansea. The role focuses on managing internals and fit-out packages, coordinating subcontractors and delivering works safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

The position is long-term freelance, with an expected run through to June 2027 and an immediate/start ASAP availability.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager on large-scale warehouse, distribution centre or logistics projects.
• Strong track record in internals and fit-out.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades/packages.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality and programme management.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or on large-scale projects.
• Relevant site qualifications, including SMSTS and CSCS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee works on site and coordinate subcontractors to keep the programme on track.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
• Work closely with the project team and manage internal works and fit-out activities.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to schedule and budget.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain documentation.

Job description

Fawkes & Reece are currently working with a Tier 1 contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join a major warehouse / distribution centre project in Swansea.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in large-scale warehouse, distribution centre or logistics projects, with particular experience managing internals and fit-out packages.

This is a long-term freelance opportunity, with the project expected to run through to approximately June 2027.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing works on site, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring that the project is delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

You will be working closely with the wider project team and will have responsibility for managing internal works and fit-out activities across a large-scale distribution facility.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Site Manager on large-scale warehouse, distribution centre or logistics projects.
• A strong track record in internals and fit-out.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades/packages.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality and programme management.
• Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or on similarly large-scale projects.
• Relevant site qualifications, including SMSTS and CSCS.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work effectively within a large project team.
