Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a warehouse store refurbishment and fit-out in Paignton. Start on 14th Sep 2026 for approximately 5 weeks, with a rate of £270-£300 per shift. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage safety, and ensure project milestones are met from start to handover.

The role requires strong site management experience, health & safety knowledge, and effective communication to keep the project on schedule.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certification is required.
• CSCS Black/White/Gold Card is required.
• First Aid at Work certification is required.
• Fire Marshal responsibilities and training are required.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a warehouse store refurbishment and fit-out project, starting the 14th September for an initial 5 week duration.

The Role

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and deliveries.
• Ensure works are completed safely, on programme and to the required standard.
• Manage site health & safety and maintain site documentation.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the project is delivered efficiently through to completion and handover.

Requirements

Candidates must hold:

• SMSTS
• CSCS Black, White or Gold Card
• First Aid at Work
• Fire Marshal

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Site Manager on warehouse, retail refurbishment or commercial fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of site health & safety.
• Confident managing multiple subcontractors and trades.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to take ownership of the site and drive the project through to completion.
