Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced No.1 Senior Site Manager for a £7 million, new-build commercial warehouse and critical network infrastructure project in Newport, Wales. This freelance role places you in overall day-to-day delivery, coordinating site operations, subcontractors and materials to strict safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project as No.1 Site Manager.
• Manage all site operations, subcontractors, labour and materials.
• Oversee groundworks, foundations, steel frame erection, RC floors and roof, rainscreen cladding and internal fit-out.
• Coordinate the construction programme, ensuring on-time delivery to quality standards.
• Maintain excellent health and safety standards across the site.
• Manage site documentation, inspections, QA and progress reporting.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate secure internal works and ensure compliance with site procedures.

phere Solutions are currently recruiting an experienced No.1 Senior Site Manager for a £7 million new-build commercial warehouse and critical infrastructure project.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

This is an excellent opportunity for a freelance Site Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of a technically challenging construction project, involving steel frame construction, foundations, reinforced concrete floors and roof, rainscreen cladding and secure internal fit-out.

The project will accommodate critical network infrastructure, including control room facilities, so experience working in sensitive or secure environments, such as MOD, defence or other restricted-access projects, would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project as No.1 Site Manager.
• Manage all site operations, subcontractors, labour and materials.
• Oversee groundworks, foundations, steel frame erection, reinforced concrete floors and roof, rainscreen cladding and internal fit-out.
• Coordinate the construction programme, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
• Maintain excellent health and safety standards across the site.
• Manage site documentation, inspections, quality assurance and progress reporting.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate secure internal works and ensure compliance with relevant site procedures.

Requirements

• Valid SMSTS certificate.
• Valid CSCS card.
• In-date First Aid certificate.
• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or No.1 Site Manager on large commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of steel frame construction, reinforced concrete, cladding and internal fit-out.
• Experience working on sensitive, secure or critical infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.

• Contract: Freelance, approximately 12 months.
• Value: £7 million.
