Job summary

Aspire People is helping a South Manchester primary school recruit a reliable School Caretaker to maintain cleanliness, safety, and the overall upkeep of the premises. The role is hands-on, with hours around 7am–3pm (negotiable). You will monitor security, carry out minor repairs, manage waste, and report hazards promptly.

Enhanced DBS and Education Workforce Council applications are supported. Experience in caretaker or maintenance is desirable; a proactive approach and ability to work with

Qualifications

• Caretaker or maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic health and safety knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and positive attitude.
• Physically fit for manual tasks.

About the Role

We at Aspire People are delighted to announce we are now working alongside a primary school in South Manchester who are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our premises. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to providing a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. Working hours 7am-3pm but negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the building and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks.
• Monitor security systems and ensure premises are secure.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling.
• Report any issues or hazards promptly.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
