Job summary

Fairmead are recruiting a Site Manager to run Section 278 highway works in Great Dunmow on a weekends-only basis. The role involves managing a small gang, subcontractors and traffic management to the highway authority's spec.

Hours are Saturday and Sunday, 8am-5pm, with a 1-month duration. Location: Great Dunmow, Essex. Rate: 290 per shift, weekends only.

Qualifications

• Proven S278 or highways experience.
• SMSTS certification required.
• CSCS card required.
• First Aid certification desirable.
• NRSWA / Streetworks Supervisor advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Running S278 works — new junctions, carriageway widening, kerbing, footways, drainage and street lighting, working to the local highway authority's spec.
• Managing the gang, subcontractors and traffic management, and the day-to-day interface with the highway authority inspector

Fairmead are currently recruiting a Site Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established civils contractor, to run Section 278 highway works in Great Dunmow on a weekends-only basis.

Overview of role

• Location: Great Dunmow, Essex
• Duration: 1 month, weekends only
• Rate: 290 Per shift
• Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 8-5
• Running S278 works — new junctions, carriageway widening, kerbing, footways, drainage and street lighting, working to the local highway authority's spec
• Managing the gang, subcontractors and traffic management, and the day-to-day interface with the highway authority inspector

Requirements

• Proven S278 or highways experience, comfortable dealing with the highway authority and getting works signed off
