Job summary

Elvet Recruitment is seeking an experienced Freelance Civils Site Manager to oversee highways and public realms works in the Seaham area. You will manage day-to-day site delivery, subcontractor coordination and uphold safety and quality across a busy civils programme.

The role is eligible for CIS or LTD Contractors with a competitive day rate. The candidate should have a strong background in highways, civils, paving and tarmac, and be capable of running sites independently on a freelance basis.

Qualifications

• SMSTS certification required.
• CSCS Manager's card preferred.
• Experience running civils sites freelance.
• Strong highways/civils background and paving/tarmac.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations in Seaham for roadworks, bus lanes and civils works.
• Lead inductions, RAMS, permit control and daily reporting.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure works deliver on programme.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and liaise with clients and authorities.
• Produce daily/weekly progress updates and resolve on-site issues promptly.
• Work independently in a freelance capacity and manage site delivery end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead site inductions, briefings, RAMS and permit control.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to programme.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and site compliance.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and stakeholders
• Produce daily/weekly reporting and resolve on-site issues proactively

Required Tickets & Experience

• SMSTS
• CSCS (Manager's card preferred)
• First Aid
• NRSWA (Desirable)
• Strong background in highways, civils, paving and tarmac
• Proven experience running sites independently in a freelance capacity
