Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to manage night-time highway works on a major project in Cheshire. You will oversee daily site operations, coordinate with engineers and client representatives, and ensure safety, quality, and programme compliance.

The role requires previous highway supervision experience, SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, and strong communication skills to manage subcontractors and live traffic operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supervising highways or civil projects.
• Strong health & safety knowledge and site procedures.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour.
• Ability to work in live highway environments.
• SSSTS/SMSTS and CSCS required.
• First Aid advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervising highway construction and maintenance activities during night shifts.
• Managing site operatives, subcontractors, and plant resources.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with project specifications.
• Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
• Monitoring productivity and progress against programme milestones.
• Coordinating with engineers, site management, and client representatives.
• Ensuring all permits, RAMS, and site documentation are in place and adhered to.
• Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise disruption and delays.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Supporting traffic management and live highway operations.

Location: Cheshire (Major Highways Project)

Duration: 26th October - 29th January (Guaranteed)

Extension: Potential to continue through to the end of March

Shift Pattern: Nights

Rate: £375

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways project in Cheshire. Working night shifts, you will oversee daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term infrastructure project, with work guaranteed through to the end of January and the possibility of extending through to March.

Key Responsibilities

• SSSTS or SMSTS essential.
• CSCS Card essential.
• NRSWA qualification highly desirable.
• First Aid qualification advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
