Job summary

A construction recruitment firm is looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a steel-frame building project in the United Kingdom. Responsible for managing site activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and coordinating subcontractors. Site Manager - Construction Project

Role Overview

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of a steel-frame building project, managing day-to-day site activities and ensuring programme, budget, and standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all on-site operations, labour, and subcontractors involved in steel erection, cladding, groundworks, M&E, and finishing trades.
  • Ensure all works adhere to construction drawings, structural steel specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Plan site activities, monitor progress against the programme, and report daily / weekly to the Project Manager.
  • Lead site health & safety: conduct inductions, toolbox talks, inspections, and enforce compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, crane operations, lifting plans, and site logistics to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Maintain accurate site records: diaries, photos, permits, RAMS approvals, and inspection test plans.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues promptly, escalating technical problems where needed.
  • Liaise with structural engineers, architects, client representatives, and building control.
  • Ensure site security, housekeeping, waste management, and environmental compliance.
