Job summary

Think Recruitment is seeking a Site Manager for the East Midlands region. The role offers £45,000 - £65,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Car / Allowance + 7% Pension + Buy Holiday/Increase after service + Healthcare.

You will oversee on-site activities, ensure H&S compliance and timely delivery, and manage trades and materials. You'll work within a family-run business with a history of more than 100 years, across 6 regional offices in the UK.

Qualifications

• On-site construction leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations (RAMS).
• Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring health and safety compliance and timely project delivery.
• Vet trades on-site and require sample areas/rooms to guarantee standards.
• Manage material requisitions and site deliveries against procurement orders.
• Review and propose revisions to the project programme with Senior Site Manager/Project Manager.
• Drive the project timeline and update the as-built programme weekly.
• Compile and maintain the Health & Safety file throughout the project.
• Identify and manage risks, develop RAMS for operatives/subcontractors.
• Participate in pre-let interviews and subcontractor appointments.
• Implement corrective actions for non-conformance and system improvements.
• Lead and motivate the site team, plan and allocate work for productivity.
• Provide feedback and assist with appraisals, fostering development.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and their representatives.

The Role

Construction Management:

• Oversee all on-site activities, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations and timely project delivery.
• Ensure the highest quality control by vetting trades on-site and requiring sample areas/rooms to guarantee standards.
• Manage material requisitions and ensure site ownership of all deliveries, verifying materials received against procurement orders.
• Review and propose revisions to the project programme, collaborating with the Senior Site Manager (if applicable) and the Project/Contracts Manager.
• Drive the project timeline, ensuring completion within the set programme, while updating the as-built programme weekly.
• Compile and maintain the Health & Safety file throughout the project.

Compliance:

• Identify and manage health, safety, and environmental risks, developing an approving RAMS for all operatives and subcontractors.
• Participate in pre-let interviews and decision-making for subcontracto appointments, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Implement corrective actions for any non-conformance on-site, recommendin system improvements as needed.

People Management:

• Lead and motivate the site team, including assistant or trainee, operatives, an subcontractors, to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Plan and allocate work to ensure optimal productivity, with dedicated areas an timescales for each trade.
• Provide constructive feedback and assist with appraisals, fostering continuou improvement and professional development within the team.
