Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Site Manager in Sheffield to oversee the day-to-day running on healthcare, education, residential, and commercial schemes across South Yorkshire. You will coordinate site staff and contractors, plan activities, manage costs, and report progress to stakeholders.

The candidate should have extensive industrial site management experience, strong leadership, cost-control skills, and valid safety qualifications (SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS, asbestos awareness).

Are you an experienced Site Manager looking to take the next step in your career with a leading regional contractor? You'll be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day running on a variety of healthcare/educational/residential/commercial schemes throughout the South Yorkshire region.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Coordinating and directing both our directly employed site staff and valued contractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.


• Planning and programming all site activities, meticulously coordinating labour and resources to ensure seamless operations.


• Working in close partnership with Contracts/Project Managers to ensure projects progress according to programme, with a sharp focus on effective cost control and delivering value.


• Proactively identifying and resolving any issues that arise, planning and implementing corrective actions promptly.


• Providing regular, clear updates to stakeholders and leading productive progress and subcontractor meetings.


• Upholding our commitment to high quality and paramount safety standards, working closely in-house Health, Safety and Environmental Team. Your dedication to ensuring \"we all go home safe, every day\" is paramount.

Essential Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• Extensive previous site management experience ideally working on Industrial new builds.


• The proven ability to plan all aspects of complex construction operations and produce robust construction programmes.


• Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and a keen commercial awareness.


• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and people management skills. You'll be a friendly, professional, and collaborative point of contact for colleagues, contractors, clients, and all supply chain partners, embodying our partnership approach.


• An academic qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in a construction-related subject) is a distinct advantage, demonstrating your commitment to professional development.


• In-date qualifications and training such as SMSTS, First Aid, Black Managers CSCS card, asbestos awareness, working at height, and scaffold inspection are highly desirable.


• A full driving licence is essential for this regional role.
