Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group seeks a Site Manager to lead the delivery of a £2.8m CAT B fit-out in Central London, followed by a similar value project in Victoria. The assignment starts in November and runs for 24 weeks, reporting to a Contracts Manager on site.

The role requires a proven track record in commercial fit-out projects, strong carpentry/joinery experience, and effective coordination with stakeholders to maintain schedule, safety, and quality.

• Understanding of programmes and ability to handle scheduling software.
• Experience running fit-out projects as Site Manager on commercial sites.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with the team.

Job description

I've had a call this afternoon from a good customer of mine and he's asked me to find a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £2.8m CAT B fit out based in Central London and then moving straight onto another project of a similar value in Victoria.

About the role:

The project kicks off in the start of Noveember and will run for 24 weeks, we will need you to lead the delivery on this sole project whilst reporting back to a visiting Contracts Manager.

Responsibilities for the Site Manager:

• Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites.
• Enforce health & safety protocols, manage risks, and address any issues promptly.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to keep the project on track.
• Maintain quality standards by monitoring workmanship, materials, and adherence to specifications.
• When challenges arise, you will find solutions to keep the project moving forward.
• Effectively communicate by liaising with team members, report progress, and address concerns.

The ideal Site Manager must have:

• Longevity in roles with some of the contractors in the industry
• Major experience in carpentry / joinery
• Understanding of programmes and ability to handle programming software competently
• Experience successfully running fit out projects as a Site Manager on commercial projects
• Interpersonal skills so you can get on with the rest of the team
• SMSTS, First Aid, Fire Marshall and Black Card/NVQ Level 6 certs
