Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a technically demanding civil engineering project involving drainage, reinforced concrete and steel-framed works. You will manage day-to-day site delivery, coordinate subcontractors, and monitor safety, quality and environmental standards to ensure compliance with drawings and programme.

Experience with Tier 1 contractors and regulated sectors such as nuclear/Network Rail is highly advantageous; SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications

Site Manager

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a background in highly regulated construction environments, looking for your next challenge?

We're recruiting for a Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a technically demanding construction project involving drainage, reinforced concrete and structural building works. The successful candidate will have experience working with Tier 1 contractors and delivering projects where stringent safety, quality and compliance standards are essential.

Experience within regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence or Network Rail would be highly advantageous.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient day-to-day delivery of site activities, coordinating subcontractors, managing resources and ensuring works are completed to programme and specification.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing daily site operations and coordinating subcontractors and site personnel.
• Overseeing drainage installation and associated civil engineering works.
• Managing reinforced concrete raft foundations and concrete slab construction.
• Supervising the construction of a steel-framed building, including cladding installation.
• Coordinating minor electrical installation works alongside the wider construction programme.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and approved methodologies.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Reviewing RAMS, permits and site documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitoring progress against the construction programme and addressing potential delays.
• Coordinating site inspections, quality checks and relevant documentation.
• Liaising with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants and supply chain.
• Maintaining accurate site records and providing regular progress updates.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on complex construction or civil engineering projects.
• Previous experience working for or alongside Tier 1 contractors.
• Experience within a highly regulated environment, ideally nuclear, defence, Network Rail or a similar sector.
• A strong understanding of drainage, reinforced concrete and structural construction works.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages.
• A thorough understanding of construction health and safety, quality assurance and site compliance.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to planning, risk management and site delivery.
• Relevant site management qualifications, including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
