CDM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a respected civil engineering contractor in the North East. You will lead day-to-day civils and infrastructure delivery, manage site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, high-quality project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor within civil engineering.
• Strong leadership and onsite management capabilities.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations to ensure safe and efficient progress.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to meet specs and programme.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure quality standards and complete required inspections and documentation.
• Promote safe working practices in line with CDM and H&S regulations.
• Communicate with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and authorities to maintain delivery.

We're supporting a respected civil engineering contractor in the North East who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to oversee day‑to‑day delivery of civils and infrastructure works. This role suits a confident leader who can manage site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, high‑quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Leadership: Lead daily site operations, ensuring works progress safely and efficiently.
• Subcontractor Coordination: Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed to specification and programme.
• Programme Delivery: Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works meet quality standards, completing relevant documentation and inspections.
• Health & Safety: Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with CDM and H&S regulations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and local authorities to maintain smooth project delivery.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor within civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, structures, highways, or public realm.
• Confident communicator with strong leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
• SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid; additional civils‑related qualifications advantageous.
