Job summary

Tradestech Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering AMP8 water infrastructure works around Worcester. The role focuses on safe, on‑time delivery of on‑site activities for a 6‑month contract at £350 per day CIS.

You will manage site teams, subcontractors and daily construction operations, ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits and project procedures while maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Manager in civil/utility/infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors and AMP8 water sector desirable.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and RAMS familiarity.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• SMSTS and CSCS qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
• Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, drawings, RAMS and company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
• Monitor progress against programme and report any delays, risks or issues.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and the wider delivery team.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standard.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings and progress reviews.
• Maintain accurate site records, diaries and relevant project documentation.
• Identify and resolve construction issues promptly.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with AMP8 client and Tier 1 contractor requirements.
• Support the planning and sequencing of works to maximise productivity and minimise disruption.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the site.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering AMP8 water infrastructure works in the Worcester area.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity, paying £350 per day CIS, with responsibility for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of works on site.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, utilities or water infrastructure and be comfortable managing site teams, subcontractors and daily construction activities within a Tier 1 environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, utilities, water or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working for or alongside a Tier 1 contractor.
• Experience delivering projects within the AMP8 water sector is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
• Good knowledge of RAMS, permits, inspections and site documentation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions on site.
• Relevant site management qualifications, such as SMSTS.
• CSCS qualification appropriate to the role.
• First Aid and other relevant site qualifications would be advantageous.
