Job summary

Dematic is seeking an on-site service engineer to support a resident site contract, delivering AMHE equipment servicing and scheduled repairs to time schedules and manuals. You will diagnose Mechanical/Electrical/PLC faults, prioritise faults, maintain safety and quality, and record all work accurately while supporting continuous improvement.

Knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, basic PLC understanding, and ability to read technical drawings are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, electronic and PLC faults.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
  • Shift work (days/nights) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals.
  • Undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and industry standard practices.
  • Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs.
  • Prioritise system faults and maintain safety standards at all times.
  • To accurately record all work undertaken and maintain quality output.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain product flow and ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain customer relations.

Tasks and Qualifications

  • To ensure quality of output at all times
  • To accurately record all work undertaken

  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
  • To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company
Knowledge & Experience Required
  • ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
  • Basic understanding of PLC equipment
  • Working at height
  • Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
  • PC literacy
  • Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
  • Shift work (Days/Nights) is an expectation of the role
Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)
  • Ability to learn and retain technical information
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
  • Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
  • Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
