Job summary

Smartsearch Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Site Installation Supervisor / Lift Supervisor to lead installation and removal of modular buildings at customer sites in Peterborough. You will supervise lifting operations, coordinate teams and maintain safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

The role involves site liaison with customers, pre-start meetings and ensuring adherence to approved plans, methods and risk assessments.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Installation Supervisor / Lift Supervisor to join an industry-leading provider of modular buildings and site accommodation solutions.

This is a hands-on, site-based supervisory role, overseeing the safe and efficient delivery, installation and removal of modular buildings at customer sites. You'll coordinate installation teams and contractors, supervise lifting operations and act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the installation process.

The role also offers a clear pathway into Project Management, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within an established and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the delivery, positioning, installation and removal of modular buildings and associated equipment at customer sites.
• Oversee lifting operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved lifting plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
• Attend pre-start and site meetings, liaising with customers and internal project teams to coordinate installation activities.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers on site, providing progress updates, resolving issues and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
• Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety legislation, safe systems of work and company procedures.
• Monitor the quality of work carried out by internal teams and external contractors, ensuring installations meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Check equipment, materials and stock requirements, liaising with internal teams and suppliers to ensure everything is available when needed.
• Inspect units prior to collection, recording any damage or issues and coordinating with relevant teams.
• Complete site documentation, daily work records and project handovers, including obtaining customer sign-off.

About You:

• Experience in a similar role such as Installation Supervisor, Lift Supervisor, Crane Supervisor or Site Supervisor, ideally within modular buildings, site accommodation or a related construction/installation environment.
• Good practical knowledge of site installations, lifting operations, safe working practices and contractor supervision.
• Experience coordinating site activities, supervising teams and ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standards.
• A good understanding of risk assessments, method statements and health and safety requirements.
• Ideally hold relevant qualifications such as SSSTS, CSCS Gold Supervisor Card, Slinger/Signaller, Lift Supervisor and IPAF/PASMA certification.
• Additional qualifications such as SMSTS, MEWP Manager or First Aid would be advantageous.
