Qualifications

Job Title: Site HSE Manager

Job Type: Permanent, newly created role, onsite

Job Location: Warrington area

Commutable from: Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Liverpool etc. with good M56, M62 access points

Are you able to lead and implement a cultural change programme in HSE excellence on a large manufacturing site?

You will collaborate with business leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to implement effective SHE practices that promote well-being, environmental sustainability, and workplace safety. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in health, safety, and environmental management onsite.

Responsibilities & Duties – Site HSE Manager
  • Lead the Health, Safety & Environmental function across the site, responsible for implementing HSE management systems and the wellbeing of 400+ people on site.
  • Develop and implement the site's Environment, Health & Safety deployment plan to deliver objectives aligned with the Group Sustainability and HSE Strategy.
  • Coach and mentor teams around HSE initiatives.
  • Lead the Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) program.
  • Develop and implement an Environmental Management System.
  • Establish an effective HSE risk management program to ensure compliance.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, environmental, and HSE incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze HSE KPIs to identify improvements.
  • Support management teams in developing and executing safety plans, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in safety, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environments.
  • Role model safety leadership, coaching, and development to foster an ‘Exceeding’ H&S culture.
  • Empower all workforce levels, from floor to SLT.
  • Visible and approachable – always!
  • NEBOSH qualification (Certificate or Diploma), ideally graduate IOSH.
  • Experience in safety program management, incident investigation, auditing, and training oversight.
  • Manufacturing, factory, or warehousing site experience preferred.
  • Certificate in Environmental Management (IEMA) preferred.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Diploma in Environmental Management desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles or environments.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing SHE programs and initiatives.
