Job summary

McAllister A Vortex Company is seeking an H&S Advisor to support the implementation, monitoring and improvement of HSQE systems across sites. You will promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.

Primarily site-based, you will work with site teams, contractors and management to implement safe systems of work, RAMS, inspections, and safety training while supporting HSQE initiatives.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• HSQE qualifications or training advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site priorities.
• Good report writing and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Site Health & Safety Support: conduct regular site audits and provide practical health and safety guidance to site management and teams.
• Safety Critical Equipment Management: coordinate inspections, servicing and records for safety-critical gear.
• Drug & Alcohol Testing Coordination: manage testing programs and incident documentation.
• Training & Safety Engagement: deliver inductions and coordinate mandatory safety training.
• Contractor & Operational Support: monitor contractor safety and permit-to-work compliance.
• Emergency Preparedness & Welfare: support fire safety, first aid, evacuation and HSQE reporting.
