Job summary

Lodge Country Park is seeking a Site Maintenance Worker to help keep our lodge site safe, functional and well presented in Market Overton. This hands‑on role covers both indoor and outdoor maintenance, with a mix of planned tasks and reactive duties.

You will work around 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an on‑call rota. The role requires practical maintenance experience, health and safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a care/support setting.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in general maintenance or facilities work (around 2–3 years or similar hands‑on experience).
• Confident carrying out a range of basic maintenance and outdoor tasks such as minor repairs, fencing, and grounds upkeep.
• A good understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to organise your workload effectively.
• A reliable, flexible attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills for logging tasks and communicating with the team.
• A calm, respectful approach when working in a care or supported environment.
• A positive, team‑focused mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Keeping buildings and outdoor spaces safe, functional, and well maintained through hands‑on repair tasks.
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance – fixing doors, locks, basic plumbing, and general upkeep.
• Maintaining outdoor areas including pathways, fencing, gates, and landscaping.
• Supporting seasonal tasks such as hedge cutting, vegetation control, gritting, and snow clearance.
• Carrying out health and safety checks, identifying risks, and following policies and procedures.
• Working with contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Helping create a clean, welcoming environment across the site for residents, staff and visitors.
• Supporting events and day‑to‑day operations, including setting up spaces and moving equipment.
