Job Description:

My client, a large industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Site Engineering Manager (M&E) based near Edinburgh.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the candidate should have extensive experience in heavy industry, with a strong background in manufacturing practices and lean principles. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance, mechanical and electrical work, automation, site projects, and maintenance systems, collaborating closely with operations to meet strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the maintenance team to ensure high process efficiency.
• Demonstrate leadership and team management to optimize performance.
• Manage asset management, reliability, and maintenance strategies, including planning and CMMS systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop and optimize PEMAC / CMMS systems for maximum efficiency.
• Achieve KPIs related to downtime, uptime, and workflow.
• Utilize PEMAC / CMMS for scheduling, stores, and purchasing.
• Implement best practices in process engineering and maintenance, including new technologies.
• Develop team capabilities through training and coaching.
• Manage costs within weekly KPI budgets, including energy and projects.
• Develop continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools.
• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure quality standards.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Engineering qualification in mechanical & electrical fields or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years in maintenance/engineering management, preferably in heavy industry.
• Knowledge of maintenance strategies like RCM, TPM, Asset Management.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to foster a positive work environment and manage change effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to build trusted relationships.
