Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking a Site Engineering Manager for our Ashby-de-la-Zouch site. The role focuses on leading a highly automated operation, managing day-to-day engineering and maintenance, and driving performance with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will oversee a team of engineers, coordinate maintenance strategies, and work closely with operations and customers to improve equipment reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous management or engineering leadership experience.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or automated warehousing environment.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Job Role of the Site Engineering Manager

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Site Engineering Manager has come to the forefront. This is a great opportunity to join a highly automated, fast-paced operation where you will take responsibility for the site engineering function and lead a team of engineers.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operation, ensuring planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance is delivered to a high standard while maximising equipment availability and minimising downtime.

Working closely with the customer and operations teams, you will drive engineering performance, continuous improvement, Health & Safety and the development of the site engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Engineering Team Leader looking to develop their career within a highly automated environment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Site Engineering Manager

• Previous management or engineering leadership experience.

Requirements for the Site Engineering Manager

• Experience managing, supervising or leading an engineering/maintenance team.
• Strong understanding of planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Experience with automated equipment
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Experience using CMMS systems to manage and record maintenance activities.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety within an engineering environment.
• Excellent communication and people-management skills.
• Experience working closely with operations and customers to improve equipment reliability.
• Ability to identify recurring faults and drive continuous improvement.

Desirable Requirements for the Site Engineering Manager

• Experience within a highly automated distribution or logistics environment.
• Experience with automated conveyors, cranes and material-handling systems.
• Electrical engineering background.
• Experience managing engineering budgets and site performance.
• IOSH, NEBOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification.
• Experience with PLCs, controls or automation systems.
