Job summary

THE COLLECTIVE NETWORK LIMITED in Cambridgeshire is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment. You will own the site's preventive maintenance strategy and drive reliability, efficiency and productivity, while managing budgets and contractors.

This role offers a real opportunity to influence site performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager roles.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Excellent fault-finding skills.
• Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and PLCs.
• Experience managing teams, contractors and budgets.
• Hands-on, proactive approach to engineering and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support the engineering team.
• Own the site's preventive maintenance strategy.
• Drive improvements in reliability, efficiency and productivity.
• Support the team with breakdowns when required.
• Manage engineering budgets and external contractors.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Operations to maximise site performance.
• Maintain high standards across quality, engineering and food safety.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment, driving reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement across the site.

The Role

• Lead, develop and support the engineering team
• Own the site's planned preventative maintenance strategy
• Drive improvements in reliability, efficiency and productivity
• Support the team with breakdowns when required
• Manage engineering budgets and external contractors
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
• Work closely with Operations to maximise site performance
• Maintain high standards across quality, engineering and food safety

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in an Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager role
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge
• Excellent fault-finding skills
• Good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and PLCs
• Experience managing teams, contractors and budgets
• A proactive, hands-on approach to engineering and improvement
• Strong CMMS and computer skills
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent
