Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Site Engineer to join the EKFB section of HS2, based in Buckingham, to support utilities diversions and associated civil works.

The role focuses on setting out, surveying, and coordinating works around existing services, while ensuring documentation and drawings are followed and safety standards are maintained. This is a major infrastructure project offering long‑term career development.

Qualifications

• Previous site engineer experience on civil infrastructure projects.
• Practical experience with utilities and diversions.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS card holder.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs and construction info.
• Strong setting-out procedures and site engineering practices knowledge.
• Excellent communication with site teams and subcontractors.
• Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of utilities diversion works and civil activities on the HS2 project.
• Carry out setting out, surveying and engineering checks to ensure works follow drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with site management, subcontractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify clashes, constraints and construction challenges relating to utilities infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate site records, QA documentation and inspection records.
• Support planning and coordination of site activities and safety compliance.
