Job summary

Carmichael UK is recruiting an experienced Utilities Site Engineer / Utilities Coordinator to join the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. You will play a key role in the safe planning, coordination and delivery of utility works across a complex construction environment.

Working with site teams, subcontractors and client representatives, you will protect utility assets, support permit-to-work processes and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety procedures and record keeping throughout

Qualifications

• Experience as Utilities Coordinator, Utilities Engineer or Site Engineer.
• Civil engineering and utility construction experience.
• Knowledge of HSG47, GS6 and working around underground and overhead services.
• GIS knowledge and training in cable avoidance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage utility protection activities across the project.
• Review and approve breaking ground and permit-to-work documentation.
• Ensure compliance with utility detection standards and safety procedures.
• Support site teams with safe delivery of utility-related works.
• Carry out site engineering duties, setting out and survey control activities.
• Monitor quality, maintain accurate records and support as-built documentation.
• Work closely with subcontractors, designers and client representatives.
• Assist with method statements, inspections and testing requirements.
